Alabama State Rep. John Rogers (D) says Donald Trump Jr is "proof that mothers ought to have the right to have an abortion because he is evidently retarded or crazy."

He'll probably get a pass for saying it. He's on the "correct" side and he was bashing one of the Trump boys.

ETA: I actually watched the video. Holy hell, is that English? I couldn't understand a word ol' man was saying. Isn't Kut from Alabama? Can he translate that for us Yankees?

Jaelene Hinkle, who refused to wear LGBTQ Pride Month jerseys, left off USWNT World Cup roster

Hinkle has been called into national team camp twice over the past two years. In 2017, she declined the invite for “personal reasons.” She later revealed what many suspected at the time: Hinkle, a devout Christian, “felt so convicted in my spirit that it wasn’t my job to wear” the national team’s rainbow-numbered jerseys celebrating Pride Month.

Facebook is now employing link-banning. You can't link to certain sites at all. If you try to link too many times, your account will be banned too.

Of course they are starting with Infowars. But as we've seen, that's just the test, then they roll it out to all wrongthink.

Total internet erasure of certain topics, sites and thoughts are what Facebook is doing here, along with all the usual cohorts such as Google, etc.

Who gave a handful of companies the power to determine if you can buy or sell or exist? Who elected them? Who do they answer to?

If this had happened in earlier times, how would woman's suffrage ever gotten off the ground, or LGTBQ rights?

Free speech is a controlled commodity now, and we've let just 3-5 tech monopolies have worldwide control over it. Think that's wise?

There’s a legitimate (and fascinating) convo to be had about Internet corps banning for political reasons.

The solution — easy or hard — is to convince the market that expression matters, and that’s its better too have too much speech than too little.

    But more gov’t? No thanks.
    .

Obviously free speech applies with regards to the government... but does that really matter when tech companies effectively make the laws and govern us now?

    Who's the government now?

What possible reason could I have for actually celebrating "Cinco de Mayo"? I can see celebrating for whatever reason I chose on that day, but why would I or anyone else in the US have any interest in commemorating a non-event (winning a small battle in a war that meant nothing to us).

Good point. I suppose I'm still a default setting of "I can do whatever the hell I want as long as it's legal" without really giving much of a **** about what anyone else thinks about it. It just seemed like they were making stupid rules for something stupid.

I don’t usually give a flying **** about another country’s holidays. It’s theirs to celebrate not mine. It’s a day like any other. But since they’re getting ****ty about it, maybe I should get a big ass sombrero and have my MIL sown in “MAGA” and wear that around town on Sunday.

Funny thing is most people in this country have no clue what it is about.

Apparently the arch-socialist overgrown child on congress beliebes that illegal aliens are entitled to congressional representation in terms of both being actively represented by elected officials and by being counted toward congressional apportionment. All said and done, I understand why someone was banned not too far back for his comment regarding the girl's usefulness, but I have to say that he had a valid point albeit not suitable especially in extra blunt terms.

I'm not a beer drinker, but was just curious if there's any good beers [made] in Mexico?

    .

    Probably. Just not exported.

The distinctive Mexican lager is an evolution of German lagers - light and hoppy. We in American have come to known them as skunky and stale because of the clear bottles used for Corona. Even adding a lime doesn't cover that smell.

So, if some brewers in Mexico make a good beer, they're keeping it to themselves because the markets has been tainted by Corona and Tecate swill.
