Did I just read that right? Independent YouTube journalist? I guess I better check his channel. Didn't know such a thing existed, beyond maybe Hickok, etc...

    .

He's a lefty who actually plays it pretty fair. A rarity that actually gives him a largely conservative-leaning audience. Check him out.

Yes. He’s worked for a number of news sites. Vice, I think Buzzfeed, or at least once had some affiliation with Buzzfeed. Now he does youtube. Pool’s main channel, timcast, is mostly news commentary. He runs another site/channel called subverse which does more objective news.

He’s left-center. Likes universal healthcare. Social safety nets. Progressive tax. Still favors a market system, but regulated.

    Worth a listen.

Did I mention he’s half Asian half white? Oh. And he’s center left. NOT alt right. Plus he’s Asian.

Kind of a standing joke because he keeps saying those things, and people give him a hard time about it.

So that was hard to watch at times.

Tim very emotional, very fatalistic. Justifiably untrusting, though... but way too on-the-offense and closed-off to the conversation. "I hear what you're saying, but I don't like you or what you do." Okay Tim.

Joe was a good "moderator", so to speak. He took Tim's side a lot, which is good, and followed-up with some good questions to them.

Twitter lady was condescending at first... but also wasn't able to answer everything, showed a little weakness. Jack was business-minded, optimistic... but definitely let his personal views slip in (LGBTQA?)

I think there was a good conversation, although cringe, about the "misgendering" discussion. Joe and Tim hit them pretty hard on that not being a bannable offense. They fell back on the 40% suicide rate, and consider it to be a personal harassment. Joe reiterated it's science, it's factual.

Edit: Now Tim's arguing with Joe about... comedy. Tim, back down man.

Well, if he didn't say that, noobs wouldn't know.
And the SJW crowd accuses him of being a right winger.

Apparently some of the less useful people who choose to use the term "people of color" have decided that "Asians" don't belong in that group anymore. It's inconvenient when you're trying to maintain a victim class when members of the designated victim class are clearly not victims and a significant number of them prefer to assert their annoyance at being labeled as such. So you have to kick them out.

I'm not sure if it applies to all Asians, or just East Asians, or East Asians plus Southeast Asians (since most people can't see a difference). I don't think the new rules have been published yet. It's all very complicated.

In my case, it's my understanding that as of the 2020 census, the US gov't will officially classify my ancestors as Pacific Islanders rather than the current "Asian," which is probably more accurate, although both are correct. If that happens and "Asians" are kicked out of the "People of Color" victim group by the social justice warriors, will I still be a victim? Or, will I be not a victim, but also a victim at the same time? It's all very complicated.
