The people who got the bitcoin thing got rich. Kinda late to cash in on it now. Remember Kut? He didn’t travel the world and buy a business on his golden handshake alone. He bought into bitcoin early and sold near its peak. Can’t say it was wisdom. But it worked.Yeah, I never got the bitcoin thing. Our government money is bad enough, a piece of paper, but bitcoin is just thin air.
Investment is so simple: Buy low, sell high. Now if it was so simple to time it. I remember a church I was at in the 1990s had their money in a brokerage account and the broker put $18000 into Gandalf Technologies. We watched the $18 thou evaporate. When I took over managing the account, I cashed it out of the brokerage and put it into Tweedy Browne Mutual Funds. These guys are so conservative they hedge currancy against their foreign investments to take out the currency fluctuation factor from the investment. When there was a significant market correction Tweedy Brown was only midly hit.The people who got the bitcoin thing got rich. Kinda late to cash in on it now. Remember Kut? Safe gains usually aren't big gains. People who are more risk avers might not make a lot on their investments, but they don't lose a lot either. There's a stock I own that's taken a bit of a hit, but I have it only because it has a really high PE and pays good dividends, which I reinvest in the same stock. They've taken a hit in the stock market, maybe lost 10%. But it's not terrible, because they're still paying high dividends, and I'm new shares with the dividends at a lower price. And it won't be down forever. It's made some of it back.Investment is so simple: Buy low, sell high. Now if it was so simple to time it.
