Google's captcha system is more sophisticated than that. They watch your activities as you browse the web looking for "human"-type activity. This allows many people using default browser setups to avoid solving the picture puzzles. You most likely have some browser add-ons (NoScript, ad-blockers, cookie controls, etc) that make you look more like an automaton that needs to be checked.
