Big fail on your part dude. Two totally different applications. The top is high speed rail, the bottom is heavy haul frieght.

The US and China actually have both types by the way. The US does lag in high speed rail, but also has a rail system built largely for frieght infrastructure. Might want to do a little research into it. :twocents:

Oh, and don't get me started about the fact that the US will soon have the cleanest fleet of frieght locomotives, and many of the high speed rail applications globally are powered by clean diesel engines made here in Indiana.

Not a "fail" at all, although the entire World Wide Web suddenly forgetting the word "failure" overnight might qualify. The point is precisely that: the US has largely abandoned non-freight rail applications while the rest of the world makes the most of the technology. We are so in love with our enormous trucks and SUVs that we're willing to pay for 20MPG while commuting. Rail is not a silver bullet, but in many circumstances relatively inexpensive light commuter rail would ease congestion and ultimately save commuters money.

And let me point out that one cannot hijack a locomotive into an office building.

Good! Moving freight by rail is cheap, safe, and fast enough. I am all for the continued use of freight locomotives, the cleaner the better. That doesn't support the idea that all other rail applications should be abandoned.

You forgot to post a pic with your unsubstantiated argumentum ad hominem. Like so:
