Any idea how being the descendant of slave owners intersects with being a prosecutor with a reputation for being particularly tough on black people?

At least she’s a woman. And now with the emerging sex worker intersection she gets points for blowing her way into that prosecutor job.

But. Losing the POC intersection is really big. Now she won’t have enough of the right intersections to just stand there and rely on her intersectional oppression to propell her to the top. She’ll either have to punch or blow a nazi.

On second thiught. The Irish slave owner thing actually gives her another privilege point. She can say, and it could be true, that her ancestor slave owner raped a slave and she’s from that lineage. So, that restores the POC intersection, and adds another: rape victim. It doesn’t matter if it was a far distant relative whonwas victimized, under the rules of social justice she gets to claim that victim status.

When Hillary's candidacy becomes official 80% of the field or better will leave. I'll be curious to see if she picks the Indiana mayor as a running mate.

I honestly don't see her running this time around. People are tired of her. She doesn't "stand out" among the current candidates. Hell, she'd probably attract the moderates, given how extreme the current batch is.

Yeah HRC won't run this cycle.

Most centralist dems knew she was a flawed candidate last time. Most progressives don't see her as progressive enough. In the political calculus, she already lost once to Trump, they won't let her do that again. (Unless Trump doesn't run.)

And, if she DID go against the advice she's getting and run again, she'd make a great foil for all the other dems. Her influence would be diluted by the sheer number of other entrants, with different coalitions.

But, it would continue the divide within their own party.

HRC has time to watch this develop and assess her odds. If her ego gets the better of her, I can see her jumping in, fool that she is. Trump will see that the e-mails keep her from going anywhere. It would be fun seeing her and the other corrupt socialists go at each others throats.

Hillary is a proven candidate to big money, both foreign and domestic. I still believe that Bernie was back stabbed in 2016 because when big money went to the DNC and asked if he would deal, they really didn't have a good answer. Big money want's Uncle Sam back up at the world bar buying drinks for the house on a regular ordered basis, leadership in this country running the US as benefactor and player on the world stage rather than an independent country representing the best interests of the common citizen. The mayor of South Bend would certainly fit, he's worked for big dc law/lobby firms and international interests. Although relatively unknown he's the most dangerous challenge to Hillary's return. Her campaign will have to decide whether to court him as a VP or destroy him early. The rest of the fringe will self destruct or get out of her way for their own benefit.

Why. Tim thinks because that way, if they lose, they have a fall guy.

I foresee a potential problem for the democrats with all the dirt they'll dig up on each other in the primary. Most of the time it doesn't stick, but there is always a chance with so many vying for the one seat that someone will come up with an exceptionally juicy tidbit on the final winner that Trump will be able to use it as a massive cudgel during the actual race.

    We shall see...

    Regards,

    Doug
