    meh.
Impeachment will start about this time next year. The Dems know there are no impeachable offenses and no conviction is possible. They just want to try to damage Trump's re-election campaign. They are counting on six of the seven networks chanting, "Trump is guilty!" 24/7.

It's a pretty safe bet considering the networks have already been doing it for the past two years.

I agree with the latter, but not the former. Impeachment is a political action, not a legal one. To illustrate this, I'll defer to Lindsay Graham:

So if the Democrats are to take after the GOP during the Clinton era, they're on pretty solid group if they chose to impeach.

    Comparing Trump to Clinton? :lmfao:

    :yesway:

    Let's see...

Trump has a better understanding of the economy and how to build it.

Trump can point to good jobs created or rescued from impending departure where Billy Jeff bragged up a storm about two new (minimum wage) jobs for every (really good) job lost. What about these record low unemployment numbers?

Trump knows how to deal with foreign leaders and problems in ways helpful to us rather than kissing their asses.

Trump got rich through generating wealth, not through a corrupt "charity" and assorted other nefarious means.

Trump had affairs, but at least he found significantly better quality tramps than Billy did.

Trump has sense enough not to marry a shrew like Hillary.

    You're right. Comparison is laughable.

All of that is bull****. Except the first video. Graham was correct that by refusing to cooperate with Congress, Nixon opened himself to impeachment.

On the rest, it’s bull****, including the commentary in print.

Impeachment is indeed a political tool. It’s not for the purpose of “cleansing the office”. It’s a tool available for presumably extraordinary circumstances, which should be accompanied by the political capital to use it. Republicans did not have political capital to impeach Clinton. But they did it and that cost them seats.

The Democrats don’t have the political capital now. They have a few loud cackling partisans in the press, social media, and the Democratic Party. Basically fellow Trump derangement syndrome sufferers. Polls show Americans oppose impeachment. It also shows Democrats are losing independents over impeachment. They haven’t made a case for impeachment. And so they do not have the political capital to impeach.

It might be bull****, but it is suffice enough for impeachment.

There isn’t a codified standard for “high crimes and misdemeanors”. So in that sense any congress could impeach any president, and we presume they’d be opposing parties. The thing that prevents them from using such power is sanity + political capital.

Democrats lack both, and since it seems they’re this desperate, it appears we’ll see hoe badly they’ll be hurt by this. Unfortunately, it won’t just be Democrat’s hurt, it’ll be pretty much everyone.

My prediction is that Democrats won't impeach.

I don't think they will either, they will follow the poll numbers. However, I think that if they did there might be enough Republican senators that would join the Democrats in voting against him. I don't trust them very much.

Clinton was supposedly payback for Nixon, Trump could very well be payback for Clinton (that seems to be the gist of what y'all are saying)

    Let's see...

Trump has a better understanding of the economy and how to build it.

Fact-check: true. Turns out you can't tax and regulate an economy into prosperity.

Trump can point to good jobs created or rescued from impending departure where Billy Jeff bragged up a storm about two new (minimum wage) jobs for every (really good) job lost. What about these record low unemployment numbers?

Fact-check: true. Not only are the jobs plentiful, wages have also increased. Of course in the 90s, during Clinton's presidency, there was quite a boom as well, but that was because of the internet and new markets. I'm not sure even Carter or Obama could have ****ed that up. Well, maybe Obama could have. Carter didn't seem to have the same war on business policies that Obama had.

Trump knows how to deal with foreign leaders and problems in ways helpful to us rather than kissing their asses.

Fact-check: Eh, sorta true. At least we're not the America that apologizes to the world for being a world leader. We're no longer "leading from behind" whatever the **** that means. But, I wouldn't say foreign policy is a strong point for Trump. Trump kissing the Nork's fat ass kinda makes the ass-kissery still present in foreign policy, just selected in different areas. That said, we're not quite in the dire straights that we were the previous several years with NK. Long term I don't think it will be any different though. They have no desire to change their position towards the West. Neither does China. We'll see whether his tariffs bring concessions from China and Mexico. History has shown that you don't tariff an economy into prosperity either. I'd grade Trump's foreign performance as a C+, maybe B- at best. But at least it's not a F. Obama sucked ass.

Trump got rich through generating wealth, not through a corrupt "charity" and assorted other nefarious means.

Fact-check: mostly true. It depends what you mean by nefarious means. Certainly no comparison to how the Clintons laundered money gained from political favors given to foreign leaders in exchange for cash through their "charity", but Trump's business dealings weren't exactly squeaky clean either. He had to bend or break some rules, including greasing some palms.

Trump had affairs, but at least he found significantly better quality tramps than Billy did.

    Fact-check: true.

Trump has sense enough not to marry a shrew like Hillary.

    Fact-check: tautology.

    You're right. Comparison is laughable.

Fact-check: true because dual play sarcasm.
