But the far left base doesn't run the DNC or the MSM yet. What AOC is doing is fairly irrelevant because she has no real power outside of being a celebrity with socialists.

The establishment much prefers Warren. She is basically Hillary Clinton wearing a Bernie mask.

Got to disagree with that one. AOC has raised more money than Pelosi or Schiff and can raise significantly more if needed, money is power. She has a dedicated fan base that follow her lead that is by my guess about a third of the party. She can be a king maker with that base.

As for the DNC, they still want to legislate with a majority, not convinced AOC does, I believe she wants to espouse what she really believes in and go for it, not hide behind moderate dems to pass watered down versions. The majority of the MSM sure seems far left to me...

An interesting take on Bernie ans AOC that sounds very plausible...

While that’s disturbing, it’s the least of the Democrats’ worries over Bernie. He’s obviously not going to run a third time. He’s not a young man anymore. But he does have some rabid, young support in his millennial pals in the House known as “The Squad.”


Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has already demonstrated she won’t be cowed by Democratic establishment figures like her boss Speaker Pelosi. She’s long challenged the traditional rules of political norms in Washington. AOC’s behavior in the new year has been particularly interesting, and I believe a foreshadowing of what might be in store for disenfranchised Bernie boosters.


Fox News reported Cortez hasn’t donated a cent of the millions of dollars she’s raised to the Democrats’ House campaign organization. She’s raised more money than any of her party colleagues in the House, and she’s chosen to build her own progressive infrastructure instead.


In a tweet a few days earlier, AOC tweeted: “Are people actually upset over discussing multiparty systems? The conversation is helpful for understanding difference among Dems. People are acting like a Dem didn’t just join the GOP a few weeks ago.”


What does this mean? The new progressive wing of the Democratic party wants Bernie. Period. They’re not hiding their war with the old guard. This time, if the Democrats don’t give them Bernie, AOC will take her money and power and launch a third party. Perhaps a “Democratic Socialist” party with Bernie as the face - until Cortez herself matures to take the mantle.


Maybe you’ve concluded correctly that would be suicide for the party. That it would splinter Democratic votes and hand a second term back to Trump for certain. And you’d be right.


But short-term victory the old way is meaningless to those who wish to radically transform our nation in their image. Another four years of their ultimate bogeyman will suit them just fine as they burn their old party to the ground and prepare for war their way in 2024.


Democrats beware. You’re playing with fire. This time they’re going to make you feel the “Bern.”

CNN, et al setting Warren up to be the nominee. The "leak" CNN threw out about Bernie saying women can't win... just a bunch of Kavanaugh-level lies now.

This is politics. I'd love to see Bernie get pissed and do something that really hurts the party... but we'll see.

There are fractures in the Democrat party... They even have some "NeverWarren" going on. They say she's for the "rich", not liberal enough.

I think we're just getting to the point that the Democrat voters are realizing their party has gone way too far to the left... bringing these unelectable garbage-fires to the table.

Those fractures aren't large enough. With any other Republican candidate, those fractures could be exploited, but this election has Trump in the big chair. I'm fairly confident that whomever is the Democrat nominee, people will simply (as done with Trump) hold their noses and vote against him.

Bernie is the only Democrat in a position to win who pays any attention. Those guys aren't gonna go for Warren. If they have to hold their noses, it'll come down to what's in it for them. Plenty of negatives with Trump, but, if they look at how their lives are now, compared with how their lives were under Obama, if they have to hold their noses anyway, I can see a lot of them holding it for Trump.

Who said anything about dropping dimes? That's not what I'm saying. I think people who don't see any overlap at all are probably simpletons.

The people who liked Bernie in 2016 and voted for Trump, did so because both had parts of their platforms that were appealing to them. Hillary basically abandoned those people, so in the rank-order of candidates available, Trump ticked higher than Hillary. I think there aren't as many Bernie supporters now that could vote for Trump. Bernie has changed a bit such that I think many of those 12-18% don't support Bernie this time around. If the economy continues, a large number of working class people will probably vote for Trump.

Let me clarify. The other 80% of Bernies that didn't swing Trump and still voted Clinton will stay home if he gets cheated again. They won't vote Trump but they won't vote (biden?) either.

The democrat fractures are far deeper than is being acknowledged by most. This is how I see those fractures.

Bernie is the candidate of anti-Wall Street money.

Warren is the candidate of big Wall Street money.

Biden is the candidate of the party, most likely to hold the fractures together.

I do do not see this shaking out that Bernie is the nominee. Just look at the who's who coming out against him. The union working have already moved to Trump and are not moving back. The real fight is between the communists and big Wall Street globalists...
