    Most likely if the tax is waived it will only be for "pistol" registration.

    I applied for the SBR stamp a couple of weeks ago for one lower that will cover me for 2 different uppers.

    If the above info is correct I will take my chances on the 8.3" barreled AR9 pistol as not as likely to be deemed an SBR.

    I expect you are correct I had always expected to put this lower through the process and this will just speed up the process. Since this weapon doesn't have a brace just the tube I wouldn't think the ATF wouldn't be worried about it but ya never know what those people are thinking. What they are doing is outright registration of firearms.
