It is more of a Vuja De thing.
We have all been here before.
You and I had a text conversation last week, about something from last year. I went back several threads to find it, and there was a post by you that said, "I'm done". It makes me giggle.

I have built up 4 or so in the last couple of months.
I have room in the safe for a couple more, but this house stuff has to happen. I spent all winter pumping serious time/money/energy into guns. I need a finished garage, with heat so I can clean guns in comfort in the garage and not get yelled at for smelling up the house with Hoppes. And a walk-in shower, with new flooring and vanity so the wife will overlook next winter's endeavors.

Side note, I'm gonna try some competition stuff at the Antwerp range this year. Dip my feet, check the water, that kinda thing.

I've read the same thing but I haven't read about or seen any photos of worn slides due to the guide rod.

The steel slide rides along the SS guide rod which is relatively stationary against the aluminum frame so I'm not seeing a problem as long as the guide rod doesn't have a surface finish similar to sandpaper.
I put stainless steel guide rods in all my alloy framed guns.
