The Phantom is the model that changed my mind about plastic.
The plastic merely cuts overall weight from the piece.
Mine is so G.D. accurate.

Most plastic pieces change the grip angle. The Phantom is true to the SP01 design. That's why I like it.
My taste in handguns has evolved over the years too. I used to be into the low end but reliable guns like the Bersa Thunder 9mm and .45. Those are decent guns, but there is near zero that can be done to them as a project gun. I disassembled one of them completely to do a trigger job on it and needed to create a bunch of slave pins to get it back together. Grips are hard to come by due to the way they wrap around the frame. Decent guns, but once I got into the CZs, I lost interest in them pretty quickly. I used to hate the very idea of the G****, thinking that the trigger dongle thingy was the dumbest idea since socialism. I've since come to like the things. They'll never be a favorite shooter, but they fill a niche in the collection as the utility tools that just get used without concern for holster wear or other damage.
Right now, I'm into project builds. I'm less inclined to stash money away for a Wilson Combat and would rather spend that same money on a bunch of project guns that I built instead. Not that I have Wilson Combat money lying around though. I'm thinking that my next gun will be a P07 and if that works out well, it might push me into replacing the G****s with good carry guns that shoot well too. Some of them maybe.
I do like the way it points up. Very natural.
I think we can all agree here that it's a good thing your skirt is staying down now....88.......I feel much the same way.
Issue with me is the excitement over a new to me 1911 is just waning. I have done about all I can do to one short of buying a lot of expensive jigs and doing the machine work myself. Fully capable to do it just not in the budget at this point in my life.
Still like playing with the AR platform. But, the Ingo lower might be the last one of those I get all excited about.
Not much blowing my skirt up these days.
The 2011 project was a really great path to walk but I will not be doing that again. one and done.......
Good morning to allRather steel or poly the CZ P-09 with CGWs extras will shoot with any gun I have seen. The Phantom is the model that changed my mind about plastic.

I can't argue with that. But, I will never part with my Phantom.
I'm not even going to begin discussing which are keepers... I've learnt enough to know the only ones safe with me are my GP100 and 10/22...
The plan is to keep it, but you just never know.... I've hung around here long enough to figure that out.HHhhhhhmmmmmmm......not mention the RO.....
CM, are you taking your Phantom on Saturday or just the 97?
Just the 97.
I figure you have the rest covered....
Manny might be coming along.
