    Morning friends. Not feeling too bad this morning.

    Scout project progress… So the owner has decided to install carpet in this truck, which is fine. The problem is, there isn’t a good way to close out the top of the bedsides. From the factory you can remove the top, but there wasn’t anything to attractively close out the panel once it’s off. So I came up with something.

    This is what it’s supposed to look like…

    I had some sheet metal cut. Then I made a template out of paper, measured my bends. Took the metal to a friends shop who’s got a brake long enough… Bent it up. Back at our shop then I cut them to length, folded the ends over, welded them up. Made some drill centering tools out of bolts to thread into the body and make a perfect mark for drilling. Then came up with a way to upset the hole to accept a nice stainless fastener.
