I'm sensing a recurring theme here on shop class. I took home ec (I like to eat). I'm not even sure if the school I went to offered shop class. We made center punches in metal shop. When I turned mine in, the teacher gave me an A, but said he would turn it into an A+. He set the cutting tool too low and promptly bent my punch. Instead of giving me the A, he made me make a new one. I was less than thrilled.
I took home ec as well. For the same reason too.I'm sensing a recurring theme here on shop class. I took home ec (I like to eat). I'm not even sure if the school I went to offered shop class.
This may explain zip ties being my go to for fixing things.

I had to take typing so I could take the computer classes in high school.I also took typing for a well rounded education...and a class with mostly girls was a side benefit.
Looking forward to making some small parts and projects.
I have this kind of stuff in mind. Fun little projects that I can pick away at for a few hours here and there. Make custom gifts for friends and family. The garage is my place of zen.

All hail Lord Megatron!
@T-DOGG seems like he goes all out so probably something more like this…I expect with your ability to manufacture something out of pieces, along with you mechanical skills on cars, that an autobot should be busting out of your garage any day now. Call @Haven when you let it loose as I expect he would want to see it.
How nice of them.Drug dealers are back, their dog died so they just dumped the carcass on the road.

My problem is I probably have enough crap laying around to build this, but have no vision of how to do it.
Me too! Took typing in HS on a manual typewriter. First computer class I took at Purdue and used boxes and boxes of punch cards.Computers were about 25 years away.
4 or 5 years after my typing class, my BIL took computer classes at Purdue and they used punch cards to run programs.
