    If if the article is correct that all there was was an attempt to make a phone call, I don’t see how you get anywhere near witness tampering on that alone. Unless there are very specific and special conditions of bond which such a phone call would violate, I’m not so certain the governments motion is well put. If they had any real Evidence of witness tampering, I’m pretty certain they would arrest him and indict him.

    To your point, it sounds like the message is less about possible witness tampering and more about Mueller convincing Manafort "I'm playing 4D chess while you're playing checkers."
