The philosophy is total poppycock. I'm not in the mood to argue about the long-term effects of offshoring employment at slave wages only to reward companies with reduced taxation and shareholders with special tax treatment.
Great point. If companies were in such dire straits then we wouldn’t be seeing larger and larger gaps in compensation packages (and Golden parachutes) of CEO’s/upper executives and the average worker within companies. The majority of all capital saved by automation (the true killer of quality American jobs), outsourcing, tax cuts, etc. goes to the top brass and rarely makes it down to the people who truly are responsible for a company’s success. There’s nothing wrong with differences in wages but a CEO earning 300 times that of a full time employee is pretty ridiculous in most circumstances. The middle class drives the economy, not the top 1%.
