If Trump finds out who wrote that, I support firing that person.
Ah - Obama comes in to rescue Trump from the headlines, supported by the sycophantic press.

Trump is a symptom? Probably. But guess what, Obama, you paved the way for him! Sit down and STFU, again.
Someday I'd love for him to acknowledge that once he convinced the voting electorate that they could elect a charming neophyte to the presidency, then Trump's election became possible.

In a speech to students in Illinois he (barry) said the consequences of not voting against Republicans in November's mid-term elections would be dire for US democracy.
Ironically (or coincidentally), Obama and Trump's fearmongering use almost identical language.
Related question: would Trump be justified in starting a DOJ (or other LE agency) investigation into the source?
I'm not sure what laws have been broken with the op-ed.
US President Donald Trump has urged the justice department to investigate an anonymous New York Times article by an official in his administration.
He said Attorney General Jeff Sessions "should be investigating who the author of that piece was because I really believe it's national security".
Mr Trump also said he was considering taking action against the newspaper, causing its share price to dip.
But it is unclear what legal grounds any prosecutor could act on.
I'd also like to point out, if people don't like someone like President Trump (or President Obama) running things, they should STOP giving that power to that position.
