I went out on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th and May 4th. Gobbles everywhere and lots of them, no visuals. Yesterday, the 4th, I was in the blind at 545am. Started with the calls at about 630. Nothing. Not one peep. Only bird I saw was at about 12:30 and it was a hen across the field about 400 yards away. I leave at 2 to come home. I see 2 big toms down the road in anouther farmers field. Crap. Then, driving out the country roads, I find a hen in the road someone hit with a car and left it! Still bleeding, but she was stiff. I moved her to the side of the road.
