I think I worked on this A-10 in 1981, when it was brand new out of the factory at RAF Woodbridge, UK. Spent twelve years working on them. My favorite aircraft.

Looks great with that paint! Definitely one of my favorite aircraft. We live up north of Fort Wayne and they fly over our house fairly regularly. I feel like a kid because I always run outside when I hear one coming!

A-10 is the king of close air support. I don't see anything that can equal it or replace it for a long time to come.

Love those things. Grew up in Grant Co. in the 80s and 90s and they used to fly over 2x2 all the time. Moved down to Bartholomew Co. and ended up living 2 miles south of Atterbury right on the approach for their strafing runs. Those cannons sound amazing at night.

I get to train on them occasionally. I deployed with A-10s and OA-10s in desert storm and have been at stationed with them throughout most of my military career. I also have pictures somewhere when one got all shot up and landed at an Iraqi airbase shortly after we took it over during the 03 invasion. One engine was destroyed with large parts of the wind and rear stabilizer missing. When the A-10 is retired, it needs to be replaced by one just as cool and capable.
