Something good Obama has done?

You know, I read thread after thread of negativity for our president. Being as how Presidents' Day just past... Is there anyone here that would like to add something he has done that was actually good?

The one thing that I can think of is that as part of the Affordable Health Care Act, anyone with a pre existing condition cannot be denied coverage. I have a friend with spinal bipedal and because she wouldn't be able to get and afford coverage once she gets married, she isn't getting married to the government (that part of AHCA hasn't went into affect yet).

The National Park provision appeared in Section 502 of a bill titled the Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009, which included all sorts of market interference which I'm sure you would disapprove of. Obama's "Credit Card Bill of Rights" passed overwhelmingly with bipartisan support.

Well, not so sure I would call it market interference given the history of collusion that the credit card companies have with the .gov. They certainly needed some reining in. While I would have like to have seen market forces rule the day and put them in their place, it was unlikely to happen and their predatory behaviour brought about the governments actions. Government interference was pretty inevitable by the time the act came about. The cc companies really brought it on themselves. If you stand out with bad behaviour eventually someone will notice and, in this case, it was the .gov. The market was too slow to correct their myriad issues. They were already heavily regulated by the gov, this was just an extension of already existing powers. Not saying I'm happy with it, but it was inevitable and many parts of it were necessary, (and should have been adopted early on by the industry, if they were ethical). I'm still glad we can carry in parks, despite the rest.

Just read yeaterday that the money ran out for pre existing conditons and the program ends March 2.

The finding / killing of Bin Laden happened on Obama's watch. Obama loves to pat himself on the back for that one, and since it happened on his watch then he gets bragging rights. That's as far as it goes. The true credit belongs to the Navy Seals who risked their necks on that mission.

I can't think of a thing positive that he has signed or enacted that didn't have much more negatives attached to it!!! Much like the previous administration!!! Our government has convinced us that we need them on a full time basis and that's how we have gotten here??? Affordable care act sounds great till the bill comes...
