I just cannot resist this. Does this mean that the United States has become an "ObamaNation" We'll see.
This nation became an abomination long before that communist, socialist, radical, ineligible Muslim came into office.

King, based on this quote, did not want "special rights" for Black people, White people, or any _______ people, but rather wanted equal rights for ALL people. IMHO, King would have spat upon Obama.
Lincoln is not a wonderful example of the Republican party, based on this excerpt. I'm willing to allow that "he was a product of his times" excuse, however that does not mean that his ideas were correct-they certainly were not on how to defend the Constitution.
Based on the above excerpts, of the three of them, the only one never to be elected to the Presidency would have been the best to have been there, IMHO.
Blessings,

I'm not too worried. Soon, this country will be bankrupt monetarily and morally. There's going to be a huge backlash towards conservatism.
Meanwhile, keep your cool and don't let the bastards get to ya.
I am so tired of reverse racism!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You mean "backlash towards socialism", right?
Slavery isn't dead. There's still a thriving slavetrade in much of the MidEast, and in Asia. I think that little girl who disappeared in Aruba a couple of years ago was kidnapped by white-slavers, and is part of a harem somewhere in the UAE or Yemen. Afghanistan/Pakistan supposedly has a thriving trade going in young children for labor and worse in the more remote areas of both countries.
Fixed. As for the "racism" stuff, it's just more of the same Tribalism on the part of blacks Halle Berry is only 1/4 black, but she counts as much as the 1/2 Obama. And they can do no wrong. Ever. It's always "defend the brothas against THE MAN. The blacks on my job CHEERED when OJ was found not guilty. CHEERED at a man they thought was a murderer going free of butchering two white people.

Lincoln, if he had his druthers, would not have allowed Obama even to vote, much less to run for office.

I'm not so sure about King. Dig deeper into his background and you find a socialist. Many of the "black leaders" today who were around during the civil rights movement purported to believe as King expressed, but now are firmly in the special rights camp. I wonder if the same would have happened with MLK. Just as Rosa Parks is mythologized as "just a working woman who was tired after work and decided she's had enough", she was actually a highly educated activist, trained by the Communist party, who was part of a careful plan to orchestrate the bus boycott. That doesn't change the moral rightness of her stand, but why the unchallengable myth?
As to Lincoln, based on his warm relationship with Frederick Douglas, I suspect that he was actually less racist than his speech indicated. Like politicians today, he was positioning himself. That said, I think he was on the wrong side of principle as to the Civil War, but pragmatically, that has probably been more to the good than the bad.
When slavery is discussed, America takes a beating. Pull back to a greater conceptual height, however, and you see that a vile institution that had existed since before written history ended on our (and the Brit's) watch. White Christians were the driving force to end a centuries-old evil. I agree that the slaves who suffered here would have been better off free in Africa, but their descendants today are certainly better off for having been born here.
Finally, racism is disgusting and hateful, regardless of which direction it comes from. Unfortunately we live in a time where one side can be unashamedly racist and never get called on it.
Personaly i think that now we have a "black man" (well he is really more white than black) in office we should get rid of how the white man is keeping the black man down B.S., but we all know that some just wont get off their butt as long as the goverment pays them to watch t.v. in their homes while the rest of work to hard to suport them.
