The answer is "because SAMs work pretty good". Which may change if the missiles finally run out.

I simply don't think Russia has any institutional experience in SEAD/Wild Weasel operations. When's the last time they fought someone who has modern air defenses? They haven't been able to destroy all the SAM infrastructure with standoff weapons and they haven't been able to suppress them air-to-ground. Part of the reason the ground war has turned into such a meat grinder is neither side has been able to safely run CAS.

Nobody does SEAD like the US. We learned it in Vietnam and took apart the world's sixth largest air force in a few days in the 90s. We have dedicated platforms, weapons, and specialist personnel with experience.

I didn’t expect them to be able to do much about our newer more complex stuff. There is no excuse for a major power to not have a way to counter MANPADs and Russia should have known this after their experiences in the 80’s and watching the Middle East conflicts.

Agree, but Russia just depended on their Nukes and the fear they will use them. Now they see their mistakes. Not that Putin cares, 500,000 troops lost isn’t a concern.

TBH, some of these things you could probably look at 5 different sources and get 6 different numbers. I tried googling it myself, and some of the numbers popping up in the first source were wildly different, like supposedly 71 years male life expectancy for Russia.

Heck, even some of the links you posted bely the numbers shown in that meme. I just looked at the world bank data for life expectancy that you linked, and Nigeria has been a solid 10-15 years behind Russia in life expectancy for the last 25 years. Nowhere in that time frame were the two stats anywhere close to being within 3 years of each other like the meme said.

Russian male life expectancy was at 58 in 2009. that's not that long ago.
