I have to agree. Every video I've seen of attack and transport helicopters being shot down has them flying low-level, usually 100-feet plus above the terrain - which as, if I remember my last threat briefing over 20 years ago - is/was Soviet doctrine. American helicopter doctrine would have helicopters using terrain to mask them from the enemy, as well as using electronic counter-measures. Helicopters ( and their vertical lift replacements) and armored vehicles are going to remain relevant as long as they keep developing tactics and countermeasures to anti-air/armor technology.EVERYTHING is a war between offense and defense.
EVERYTHING.
Something is countered, then a counter to that is developed.
Then the counter is countered.
And so on
And so on.
Every once in a while, something changes the paradigm.
Such as the death of the battleship.
And that was started by Diesel Subs, and finished by Nuke Subs.
With an assist by carriers.
Right now, for reasons unknown, but arguable, the Russians are fighting stupidly with both their armor and aviation assets.
