I am extremely disappointed in all those who did not, if they were offered the opportunity to do so.

You know, I've been thinking about this for a bit. At least 44 other Representatives signed it. Something doesn't get around to 44 other Reps without the rest knowing about it, and if they didn't know about it, then maybe they're not the right person for the job. This is the Big Leagues now. They're sitting in the United States Congress, not the local PTA. If they're too busy to know what's going on with the other reps from their own state, then we have a problem. I cannot believe that they didn't have an opportunity to sign it.

This is incouraging to say the least! And after seeing Newt on PM tonight which he did an exelent job. Todd can take into the endzone!

Very encouraging start... there are 435 members in the House and only 44 put their name on Rep. Rokita's letter to Obama!

That means there is still a lot of work to do. That said I don't know the reasons that more signatures were not on that letter.

We got to give encouragent and gratitude to those who do their sworn duty and defend the Constitution and give the rest of em' sitting on the fence hell!

I've sent messages to Ms. Brooks as well and have received nothing but "I'm busy, I'll get around to answering you later" form letters. She'll be hearing from me about why she's not one of the Indiana reps who signed this letter. She seems to be on our side, so I would like to know.

I contacted her again tonight on both her "Congresswoman Susan Brooks" Facebook page and her personal Facebook page. I've sent her several letters and emails as well. If I had known that today was her "office hours" day (every 2nd Thursday, starting today) I would have gone and talked to her aide at the Fishers City Hall. I want a rock solid commitment from her.

Do you think Barry cares? Isn't Obummer's Kool Aid unconstitutional?

We all know Barry don't care, because Barry is at war with the American people!

This is a strong death match between the Republic and Socialism.

The Socialism virus embeds itself in it's host by graft, corruption, slick lies, false promises and media propaganda. This infection takes years to fester.

When the host is mortally infected, the socialism virus always moves in for the kill only to attempt to recreate the host in it's image.....

Lose your guns, you are mortally infected!

    I ain't drinking his koolaid!

Way to go Todd!!! Letters of thanks are inbound to all the Reps. that signed it. Hearing this has me seriously thinking about writing a generalized letter and sending it to all the Reps. that didnt sign it to encourge them to "get off the fence" and do whats Constitutionally right.

    Where's the bacon?
    Emailed from his webpage:

    Dear Rep. Rokita,

I read the letter sent to the White House with your name as the first signature and am EXCEPTIONALLY pleased. That Mr. Obama and those of his ilk have placed you and others in the position of having to sign a letter like that (when it should be a given!) is unconscionable and inexcusable, especially in light of the whole Fast and Furious scandal, among others.
I am happy to see every signature on that letter and commend all of them; The Congressional mail system will not allow me to mail them, so I ask you to convey to them the thanks of the Americans who cannot contact them. I will admit to a nagging curiosity as to why 90% of the House members' names did not appear on that letter. Was it passed around only to a few or made available to all and only 10% had the intestinal fortitude to sign their names to it?

Regardless of your reply, I do want to say "Thank you!" for standing for the rights of your constituents and those outside of your district as well.

    Most sincerely,
    (name redacted)

I don't see Todd Young's name on there... disappointing...

I'm really becoming discouraged with Young's ambiguity on the 2nd Amendment. In form letters and on the Garrison show, he only states he's pro-2A, but heck, Obama says THAT much. How will he vote on banning certain firearms, or limiting mag capacity, ammunition availability, universal background checks, national registries? From what he's said on the subject, I currently have no clue.

Since Young is a regular guest on Garrison, I emailed Garrison asking him to nail him down to specifics. Not sure that'll happen.

My letter to Luke Messer, since he's my Rep and he signed the letter.

    Dear Rep. Messer,

I was pleased to find your signature attached to Rep Rokita's letter addressed to the President concerning the constitutionality of any future legislation concerning firearms. I wish to convey my gratitude to you and the 43 other representatives who signed this letter to show our elected representatives that further infringements on our rights will not be tolerated.

Please continue to work with your fellow House Representatives to ensure the rights of the citizens of this country are retained as protected in the Constitution.

Our ultimate goal should be to restore all of our rights, especially those protected by the Second Amendment, that have been eroded in contradiction to the Constitution. At this point our fight is unfortunately focused on the current desire by certain people to use recent events to further their own agenda and to further infringe on our freedoms.

Thank you for your efforts on behalf of your constituents and all citizens.

    Sincerely,

    (Redacted)

Great letter and thanks for the post!

I will again contact Susan Brooks in this matter. If we keep contacting her she will have to stand with us in theory anyway.

I edited the OP with a letter that I was given by a reliable source. I put it in the OP so it wouldnt get lost in the thread. ill post here again for posterity:

Everyone in Congress was shown the Todd Rokita letter and given over a week to contact his office if theyo wanted a signature block space held for them ( to sign the letter). This includes all Republicans from Indiana. 2.Only Stutzman and Messer said yes from Indiana. The others did reply and said no. 3. Young did sign a softer letter apparently ( his description) from another member from Michigan. He would not sign both. Todd signed both. Marlin and Messer signed both. The other delegation members signed neither.

I just received a copy of the letter that Young signed, it had 79 signatures on it.
