"I sold a fair amount of kinda cleaned pistol brass."
I worked at a TRWA gun range for 2 years. Pay was .40 per mile for my 29 mile round trip. I worked Fridays to cover those that worked and Sundays for those that spent time with family. TWRA provided a good lunch, snacks and drinks. We collected brass, sorted, tumbled and bagged at 50 and 100, 3 cents for small pistol up to 45ACP, large pistol and rifle were 5 cents. Scrap brass, aluminum and steel was sold as scrap. Money collected paid for our Christmas dinner plus a gift card.

"primers were 3 cents and powder was $20 a pound."
The first packs of primers I bought were $1.25 to $1.50. I caught a sell in Shotgun News. A sleeve of primers was $75 with hazmat, I bought 2 for the free delivery.
Cabela's had Black Friday computer generated sales between 2012 to 2017 that lasted a few months each year. One morning CCI primers were $9.99 per carton. I place an order for 6 sleeves on my wife's and my cards in 2016. A week later powders were $8.99 per lb. I bought the hazmat limit on a few I wanted on my wife's and my cards again.
