Enemy propaganda would have been more appropriate in that case...

That's spot on. Just a word to inspire fear. Most people I know who talk bout communism/socialism aren't well versed enough in the political theory to speak intelligently on it, other than, "it's bad." Which, to a degree is generally right, but smacks of limited knowledge.

You're right. Enemy propaganda would have been more appropriate in that case as I can't be sure if the authors are communists or just hate America.

ex 1. "Counterprotesters" aren't ANTIFA terrorists or anything so be sure to not call them that... Lets talk about what the SPLC thinks about TPB though. Let's also pretend it was only TPB in attendance.

ex 2. Call the "OK" symbol a "white power" symbol when they're doing it to troll, because the media 100% invented that BS out of thin air.

I quit skimming at that point when I realized what I had clicked on. If you want to ingest straight cancer directly through your eyes, NPR is a great place to do it.

While it looks like NPR framed the event inaccurately to impose a narrative, I didn’t see anything communist about it. The framing NPR used makes it sound like it’s the forces of good vs Trump’s evil racist terrorist group. What it really was? Two ideological extremes clashing.

The claim, as it looked to me was that the article was communist. No one said there were no communists present.

I kinda like the way they've taken a 55 gallon drum and made sheet metal shields for the bunch.

I wonder if they recognize that it might stop rocks and bricks pretty well, but law enforcement and the military haven't been known to throw rocks and bricks......

As a staunch conservative and Trump supporter I disavow violence against Democrats and liberals.

Same. Unless it is in self defense. In that case, burn the MFers to the ground.

No, but pretty sure it will stop rubber bullets and pepperballs. Well, at least the impact pain of the balls. They'll still get a snoot full of pepper.

Hence my comment about people's ignorance in understanding it. If you want to cite actual socialist/communist things to be afraid of, how about making sure they actually apply, and aren't that monster under the bed that scared you when you were a kid.

So, you are willing to debate a dead person?

Are you sure that you were not sending in ballots for them?

I'm debating repping you for a pretty solid zinger.

Edit: I can't, because of the "rep system that is an affront to freedom loving Americans." But I did try.

Since you seem to be claiming to be well versed, you should recognize it when you see it.

Hence my comment about enemy propaganda... Then lo and behold, more of it appears.

I better versed than most. What I most often "recognize," is people talking about communism/socialism (post WW2), and confining it to some of the least applicable nations that practice political/economic system (USSR, China, North Korea).

I'm gonna ask nicely that you dispense with the personal attacks... because at some point, I'm gonna respond, people are gonna get mad, and this thread locked. So reel it in bro.

They use those when LARPing on Sundays.

Fellow INGOers, I must confess I never intended this go this direction, merely to show that there was some recent politically motivated violence in our Capitol (you know, what this thread is all about). Find another source than NPR, or ignore the text and look at the photos, shoot the messenger, or just use to promote your own agenda... whatevs.

No, Jetta was equating calling the left (Antifa and BLM in this case) communist/socialist was like their claims of Trump being "literally Hitler". The picture shows one sign in particular that is blatantly anti-semitic, so you tell me which is more baseless. Also the article accused the Proud Boys of white supremacist views. Again, which side is carrying the anti-semitic signs?

Ok, I'm really confused now. I read your comment to say that the USSR, China, and North Korea are the least applicable examples? Please tell me I've misunderstood.
