You have to be found guilty to be a criminal so you would still have a right to a trial and other stuff. I think you still have some rights after being found guilty too if you are a US citizen criminal. They could have just left the criminal out of that statement.I only partially agree to this.
If you are arrested as a thief, you have no right to a trial?
To not have cruel and unusual punishment?
They can just accuse you, label you a criminal, and then you have NO rights?
Or, they arrest you, accuse you of being here illegally?
Again, no trial?
No limits on punishment?
Those rules are to protect the populace, not necessarily the criminal.
It is supposed to protect us from an error in frontier justice, or an error from an uncaring over controlling government.
