Dad's chickens were given a post processing deer carcass once. What a sight to see.

If you drop/toss an egg in the area they are keep, they will swarm it.

That's no different than drinking milk for chickens. Yolks are where young chicks get their nutrition.

When feeding laying chickens you need to give them calcium in their diet, usually from crushed oyster shells, or they will eat their own eggs to get calcium from the shells.

His are returned all their own shells after use. Usually shortly after breakfast. He throws them barn nice all the time too. After watching their behavior I'm very convinced they descended from velociraptors.

Velociraptor, amazingly tastes just like chicken.

My friend that raised layers would take all of the rooster eggs (the ones with the pointy bottoms) and throw them on the ground foe the hens to eat he also broadcast oyster shell and all of the discarded shell back to them.
