As a nonprofessional, how about using non lethal means to shoot at the trainees? I guess you could give each trainee a shot of adrenaline? Besides adrenaline is the one thing I said could not be simulated. I specifically excluded it as something training will not give you. Did you not read that correctly?

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug on a range I could have made a head shot all day long.

Also when people start shooting it is sometimes hard to get them to stop. It’s like everyone is shooting I should be too.

IIRC the Officer from Skokie, Illinois who got in a shootout (from inside his car) with a drugged-out bank robber who had a long gun (M1 Carbine again IIRC,) and hit 12 out of 36 shots. With a Glock 21 that's two reloads. I consider that impressive.
