Pietta Pistol

I went to a small resale shop and ended up getting a nice Pietta 1858 Army replica in .44 cal. It's my first black powder pistol. I have BP rifles, so I have basic knowledge of how they work. Anything I should watch out for?
Thinking of buying a .45 LC conversion kit.

I've owned one in the past. Had the 45 Colt conversion cylinder.
Decent set up IMHO

Good solid BP shooters, you will enjoy it. AS far as the conversion kits, they work, but are on the expensive side for what you are getting. You can almost get a Uberti conversion 1858 for the same money that shoots 45 Colt. It's the revolver on top, complete with cartridge case ejector and loading gate.

I shoot cap and ball at the range and invite anyone to join me in some black powder fun.

I set up some paper and steel targets and go through for time and then some for group size.
