Gettysburg leaves me in awe, but in an odd way. Walking the battlefield and especially the graveyards I had this overwhelming feeling of the weight of history and the lost souls.
Gettysburg leaves me in awe, but in an odd way. Walking the battlefield and especially the graveyards I had this overwhelming feeling of the weight of history and the lost souls.
The realization that Americans fought Americans with that degree of ferocity and willingness to take life and give their lives for the cause they fought for is chilling. Especially in light of today's increasingly acrimonious political and social environment.
I pray we do not get there again.
Not even a great outdoors thread can survive on INGO without being ****ed up by politics.

Notice the pile of snow. The road from the Westgate of Yellowstone down through the Grand Tetons only opened the Thursday of the week we were there.
