Quick stop at The Farmer's Market this morning.
Not many vendors there.
BBQ guys were though and I bought 4lbs of pulled pork.
I got some nice zucchini, yellow squash, golden potatoes, cabbage head, red ripe jalapenos, large round loaf of whole wheat bread, quart of apple butter and pint jars of peach and sour cherry preserves.
Farmer's Market ends soon. Not sure when.
The zucchini is perfect for long slices to fry.
I usually cut the yellow crookneck into coins to fry, or steam them whole, more flavor if you don't cut, but it takes three times as long to steam.
But there's nothing like getting out the "banjo" and uniformly thin slicing zucchini lengthwise, batter and deep fry! Squash chips rule!
Got two big clumps of cleome cut down and bagged up. The bees stayed on the flowers even as I was breaking them up to put in the bag. I guess they must really like them!
