Still moving from very dirty electric things to some clean reloading surfaces for my main bench.
Noticed a large spider venturing into my garage.
He was FAST for about ten steps, then not so fast. I scooped him up with a peanut can sitting by.

It's a trapdoor spider, rather large one looking to make a living in my garage. Sorry little friend! Won't work. I like to keep these going, though.

I took him out to where we have a stand of yews/Taxus and let him go to try again.

I'm scared of these guys. I know their poison is not anything to worry about, but I've been bitten once by a trapdoor spider, goofing in the woods.

It's a big bite they take and for a long time, you STAY bit!

He's safe, now; we both are.
If it comes to it he's outgunned by my size 12s.
I'd rather him get back to work.
    Silly me, it's a girl.

    Heading for lunch.

After lunch settled for a minute, we got going on the large mismanaged pile of firewood.

Got the chainsaw work done, but faltered with the hand splitting.

Oaks were smaller, quartered them, but the maples need MANY splits.
Taking a break, waiting for cooler temps.
    It's sweaty out there.
