I did too. Was thinking it was going to be a big wet hay field by the time this rain cleared later in the week so today was a nice surprise.
Plus, I threw down triple 15 before the storms. 4" of rain thus far is going to create a forest.
Well it is official. We are losing our foster son. He is being given to his grandmother. The same woman who raised the girl who was using cocaine during her pregnancy and also the same woman who's domestic partner is an ex-convict. Somehow, in the state's infinite wisdom, she can provide a better life for him than we can. But blood relatives always seem to win these battles.
We have had him since he was 2 months old, he will be with us for the next 6 to 7 weeks and then he will be gone. He is almost 16 months old now.
Spent the weekend in Chicago with him. Took him to Stan's Donuts. Buddy Guys Blues Legends. All the finest spots!
Got home to find the pool was FILLED and the water was cloudy. Apparently Lowellabama got some rain?

Oh, and we called 911 while on one of our strolls. Seems an elderly man collapsed on the sidewalk on Wabash (almost behind the Conrad Hilton Hotel at 11th avenue) and we turned the corner from 11th onto Wabash to find him there. About 10 minutes later 2 firetrucks and an ambulance showed up. I waved them over, checked with one of the responders and then we went on our merry way toward STAN's DONUTS ... because we do have our priorities!
Unfortunately, one of the downsides to being a foster parent. We looked into it years ago. It takes a special person.

It is because u have disturbed the numbers. Now grandma can ask for .gov help for the child and the number of poor children goes up thus supporting the notion that more aid is needed.
