If you find a good place please post it up here. I've tried a couple times to get a quote from NWI generator but no dice. We've got several big aquariums and a drop freezer (which were not gunna fill till we have back up power) so we could really use one.
Duane's Electric installed our generator and they do all the maintenance.

I think I will be going with Duane's as well, he sells the same generator my grandmother has, with the same load-shedding transfer switch that I want to get. Only difference is his are GE-branded and hers is Briggs and Stratton, but otherwise they appear identical other than paint and logo

The one we got from him about 4 years ago is a Briggs and Stratton.

For whatever it is worth, Briggs & Stratton filed for bankruptcy a couple weeks ago.

Their Industrial OVH cam engines are pretty good. I ran a B&S generator for 15+ years until it blew a head gasket. It was easy starting and reliable and I certainly got my money's worth out of that engine. The chinese imports beat B&S to death with their cheap engines so B&S lowered their quality of their low priced engines. A downward spiral ensued. The company has a billion dollars in debts.

    That's the problem.
Too many parents haven't taught their kids.
The rely on the schools to do that.
