    Far West Suburban Lowellabama
    :( yups
But the drive is just under 28 mins vs the 65+ when the traffic is around.
I was happily surprised when I departed Wrigleyville at 4:15pm on Monday and made it to west suburban Lowellabama in just about 1 hour.

    Covid traffic is awesome!

Commercial office space is so dramatically overbuilt for the post-Covid economy that there is going to be a financial collapse of commercial real estate as businesses reduce the amount of square footage they lease when they renew. I'd suspect that most businesses will reduce their office square footage by 25% and continue to allow many workers to work from home. Many private offices will become part time -shared offices with 2 or 3 mid-level execs sharing that space, with each assigned the space on a specific day of the week or reserving it in advance.

Downtown leases for residential properties are easy to negotiate too. From South Loop up through the Gold Coast, including former hot spots like Printers Row and up and coming areas are literally offering 2 and 3 months of "free" rent if you sign a 14 month lease. And the condo prices in those area are collapsing. Father outside the city core the more stable the prices. Suburban prices are booming especially the farther out burbs, and the outflow from the city is pretty obvious.

I think you are underestimating the drop in desired space.

You won't be seeing cranes downtown for new buildings for a while.

I don't miss going down there a bit. I doubt I ever will again on a regular basis

No link to article but apparently someone has been shooting out car windows in Portage, Lake Station, Hobart, New Chicago, and Gary. No suspects but the police have a description of several possible vehicles involved
