Working in the city. Cost of train ticket would be parking alone. As for that, wouldn't be making enough to afford that back and forth everyday

Uber is not designed for THAT type of commutte like yours.
Have you looked into the PACE van pools. You and others rent a PACE van and share the cost of fuel and parking.Last i checked their were some groups heading out of dyer and munster. Their schedule does not work for me as they are more 7 to 3, 8 to 4 and 9 to 5. Sadly no one does the 4:30 to 5am like i do.

But that may be an option 4 u. There is also a bus out of dyer, thini greyhound like bus. But again its more normal hours.

My wife is in a Pace van pool. She loves it and you can't beat the price. If you "run" the van pool you get 500 personal miles a month with it and you don't pay anything, just take care of the scheduled maintenance (which is paid for).

Calumet river start by the indiana visitor center in hammond on kennedy ave and go east. Its a nice run and you can see bald eagles on the trip.

You can carry. I recall reading a law about no shooting across a body of water.

I believe PFD's are required, and personally, I prefer the jacket style.
