    I thought I heard rain.
I'm hoping for another clear day tomorrow. I finally got my fence fixed, well all but the gate.
And I started taking leaves off the pool cover. 3 winters worth of leaves. Ugh. Going to take a while.

have you seen one this big though?
Once in high school coming home from football practice , we caught a bull snake that was every bit of six feet. Kept it in a duffel bag overnight, then put it in a teammate's truck, who of course hated snakes. Fun to watch your buddy scream like a little girl.

Snakes would rather just typically slither away than defend themselves. Just walk/stomp a little heavier than usual. The vibrations should take care of the problem. Until then, sleeeep tight.

The only venomous snake around here is the massasauga. If it's anything else, you should just let it be, it will keep rodents away.

There was a mouse in our waiting room today. A co-worker tried to catch it with two cups... She did... From under my foot. Squish.

Rained a bit last night, looked like Chicago got hit hard watching the Sox game. Supposedly a 50% chance today.

I just leave them alone, most snakes will just slither away. When my kids were young, all girls at that time we would catch them and play with them.

A hog nose will put on a ratttle snake show for you and then commit suicide. It is amazing to me how evolution equipped them to inately know how a rattle snake acts.

    They eat mice and rats.

Strangely enough, some species of snake that don't even live on the continents where rattlesnakes exist will do the tail shake.
