I no longer believe Sylvain is from Europe or even French....I researched his facebook account and found THIS picture of him!!!!!!!!!
As I always believed he's one of us.....
I love this guy, he's a singer.

My mom had a swastika Indian rug in our living room growing up.It did offend some who did not ask.The ones who did left with a history lesson........I say they look like New England.....Not as refined as a H&R.
I love this guy, he's a singer.
Context: I was raised in a Jewish household. That religion is still the basis of my practice, but I'm not a member of any organized religion. Clear? Good.
I support his right to fly whatever flag he wants. He's expressing his opinion. Do I think he's an asshat? Sure. But he's within his rights to do so. If/when he decides to start acting on Nazi or similar ideology, starts setting up camps and ovens, I'll worry about what he's doing. Right now, he's just being an idiot.
The Confederate Battle Flag? I own one myself. Context: I went to a high school named after General Lee. I've had that flag in a drawer in my dresser since about 1985. I'm not a racist: I hate everyone equally. (credit: Harry Callahan)
Gadsden: That's a warning, a dare, same as "Molon Labe". I'm a peaceable man. I don't dare people and I don't try to incite them to do things that will result in criminal activity for them or from me. I don't want to have to do harm to anyone. That doesn't mean I won't, defensively, just that I don't want to.
Result: I don't fly any flags. I don't put stickers on my car daring people to rob me. I sure don't go out of my way to put a crosshair on my back, nor do I duct tape trauma plates there to try to draw .308 fire.
I support this guy's right to do what he's doing now: Flying flags and identifying himself for what he is. There is an old Irish phrase:
May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.
This guy is in dire need of some crutches!
Blessings,
Bill
Perfect Bill, just perfect. And without the "He ought to have his ass kicked" thug mentality. How absolutely refreshing for around here...
Once upon a time in America, we had freedom of speech and expression. It was understood that everyone had the innate right to openly state what was on their minds, and to generally express that however they saw fit. Not so in America today. Unless you express culturally prescribed thoughts and views, you`re shouted down, and even attacked with force. Make no mistake, the Swastika represents evil on a monumental scale, and probably exposes the heart and mind of the person displaying it, but where there once was freedom, there is no more. And contrary to what some claim, no, it`s hardly freedom of speech if there`s a price to pay for it, any price.
Interestingly, it depends too on exactly what kind of display is being discussed. Soft porn on television is somehow alright. When I`ve complained about that, I`m told to "turn the channel if you don`t like it". Nevermind how it impacts the culture, and especially the kids. But when someone bristles and is offended by a cross in a town square, somehow simply turning their head isn`t good enough. That must be dealt with. America is a funny place these days, it`s a place where very often, evil is called good, and good is called evil.
Back to the point of the thread, yes, it says a lot about the condition of the heart and soul of a person who feels it`s appropriate to display a Swastika flag, but it`s sad that freedom of expression is dead in America.
I just sold $1600 worth of Nazi daggers (the best Heer Dagger and most complete dagger, including the hangers I have ever had...Period...) and Hitler youth knives to a local Doctor who is no way shape or form a racist....He collects WW 2 stuff....German and American stuff only....They are out there...
One of my customers had a German battle Flag displayed in his room and had the police called out to his house...The LEO told him to get rid of it or keep his shades drawn closed....He refused and they have never bothered him again about it....
.
The power of nostalgia. We used to assassinate people for "openly stating what was on their minds".
It's never a guy in a suit in a BMW with racist flags flying.....always white trash in a POS. Same for this guy's house.
Sylvain, I know you are not an expert but I know you recognized the difference between a regular and hitler youth flag in another thread. Do you know enough about the banners to tell if there is any significance to the fact that this banner has a white ring around the swastika? Ever seen it?
My gut is telling me the reason it is there is because it is a bad reproduction by somebody who doesnt understand the true historical significance of these and thought it would look neat with that extra ring. (based on the overall story)
The perfect flag for when you absolutely have to offend just about everybody.
Just so. When I used to collect Mausers, among the most expensive pieces were Nazi proof marked and/or bring back or definitively battle used. I saw some really beat up examples bring some startling prices - especially gewehr 98s, which is what I was after
ETA: And before someone inevitably goes there, yesss I realize there are no nazi proof-marked gewehr 98s
It's a little ironic that the left and it's SJW are fascists, who, like the nazis are determined to stamp out expression of ideas they don't like--and like stalin, mao, and pol pot, would kill people for having those thoughts, given the chance. Is it worse to be branded as a racist or Nazi? Or maybe today's cool word of the left, fascist?
If it had "Nuke the Gay Unborn Whales for Jesus" across the bottom, it would be complete.
BOR asked me to post pics of my mauser. So, sure, here you go.
First though: Guy was being a jackhole and knew it. Collector he might be, he knew what he was doing. Also, I am all for calling people out on their jackholery. You don't and they tend to breed. Sure it is the attention he wanted, and sad he gets to have it, but you can't just let it ride or it becomes a new normal you don't want. Try this: Some guy runs up a NAMBLA flag and then claims it to be a "collector item" and get back to me on when the pitchfork and torch meet up at the house is.
Second: The 1A is about gov't not stopping speech. Tolerance is the word for when we agree to let each other's dumb comments ride without making a deal of it. Again, there is a limit to that under the social contract, and this dude knowingly drove over it. His choice, his act, his consequence. To claim he should not get called out is a claim to lack of responsibility for one's actions and that is an anathema to Liberty with a big "L".
Third: If you want to fly the "why is everyone so easy to offend" flag in keeping with the Anti-PC thing most people here have, don't waste it on this guy. You're tainting the claim, ruining your brand and tying yourself to a jackhole when you do it. Why would people be offended? I dunno, cause of all those dead American soldiers we sent to stop the guys with those flags? Cause those flags flew over the camps some of us lost entire branches of the family tree to? Cause when you run out to wave your d*ck around in the front yard at people they are going to assume ill of you and react in defense until you give a good good reason for not being exactly what you just portrayed yourself as? If you wear the colors in public, then don't be surprised if people assume you are on the team. God, I have heard that said here a thousand times when it comes to sagging pants and thug wear...
Fourth: Yeah, I have an Israeli Mauser with Nazi Waffen Eagles on one side from it's years in the hands of evil and Israeli Stars of David on the other from it's latter years making up it. Odds are it was an early import in or before Israel's independence war since no time was taken to peen out the eagles as was common when time permitted. I have never seen one quite like it before or since:
