Man faces trial for barking at a police dog

There are SOPs and laws preventing K-9s to be dispatched to runs other than felony violators. The cannot be used on a junevile or used in a simple misdemeanor case.

The officer can be dispatched, they keep the dog in the car

I agree with you 100%. Stupid isn't against the law, however. If the dog is so volatile that it is considered harassment to mockingly bark at it why didn't the officer inform that man as such and give him the chance to leave?

Because the law applies to teasing all police dogs, not just Timber, If the dog had simply ignored the dude and laid in the back seat sleeping, it is still harassment
