First, it depends on what 10mm price point you can afford.
I started out many years ago with a Glock 20 gen3 and Glock 29 gen3.
Then later, 5-6 years ago added a Glock 40 gen4 to the first two.
Had those three until last fall when I bought a Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 3.8 10mm because it fit my hand MUCH better, and has EXCELLENT chamber support.
I THEN sold my Glock 29.
Then after searching for a long time, I found a S&W M&P 10mm 4.6" barrel.
As soon as I put a few magazines through it, I liked it MUCH better than the Glock 20 gen3.
Plus the M&P has EXCELLENT chamber support.
NOTE: YES I have heard the reports of M&P 10mm pistols jamming, BUT most reports I've heard were with the 4" barrel and NOT much at all of the 4.6" barrel ones.
My 4.6" after a few hundred rounds has never jammed.
I THEN sold my Glock 20gen3.
So now I'm down to
1. M&P 10mm 4.6" barrel model
2. Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 3.8" 10mm
3. Glock Model 40 gen4 10mm.
IF I could afford more expensive 10mm 1911 style pistols, I'm sure I would have some of them too.
But there's a few thousand reasons I don't....ALL of them dollars.
