Started with 20, cut and restacked to 80, cut and restacked to 160, then to 320, forged it to thin to do the pattern so cut and restacked again. How many layers did you start with?
Have you seen feather damascus?

I've found a feather knife blank I would like to finish, and also a fishbone blade that's interesting. How many layers did you start with?
Have you seen feather damascus?
Those are nice!Had to pour some more blanks for an order, so I made a couple extra.
I have a friend that's been hinting at some 1911 grips, so I came up with these to see if he's interested.
I have a tendency to gravitate toward blue, so the blue has five different blues combined.
The amalgam blank is comprised of bronze, copper, silver, and a touch of gold.
These should be very nice once they are skinned.
The beauty is always hidden inside.

Definitely need some pics when you do!I've found a feather knife blank I would like to finish, and also a fishbone blade that's interesting.
Thank you.Those are nice!
Nice, definitely going to need to see pictures of them when you do that!Thank you.
I'm considering building a vertical mold for these.
That will change the patterns quite a bit.
That's beautiful as is. Put an edge on it and that could follow me... everywhere.I couldn’t help myself, I had to do a test etch on the 640 layer knife I made from the billet I forged up this past week, mind you this is only sanded to 220, still have to take it up to 2500 before it’s ready for the final etch. From the outside, they will look about the same, but once cut into, the patterns are elongated and twisted.Nice, definitely going to need to see pictures of them when you do that!
It still looks really good. Can't wait until it's finished.Oh no, there’s still plenty left f finishing to do, and still a little grinding to do to get the edge prefect. Made an integrated lanyard loop I was hoping would show some pattern but no such luck View attachment 297701
