Imagine overturning Roe makes supporters move to leftist states.

Urban population centers even in red states tend to vote Dem.

Could we see a concentration of leftists in a few states, increasing conservative dominance in the Senate and state houses?
To be fair, this is the very model envisioned by the founders: each state its own N=1 experiment in democracy.

There's no such thing as coincidences.

It looks to me like the establishment is creating a narrative for the mid terms that they think will be a big enough threat to distract from the economy.

The good-ole-boys club is absolutely not magically seeking a federal ban on abortion based on principle. They had all 3 branches of government and never considered it for a second. While I'd love for this to be the case, this is a state level issue and not a federal issue. I'm not dumb enough to miss the bigger narrative while they dangle a carrot in front of my face.

I'm sure Mitch will deliver for that interest group just as well as he delivered for gun owners last time the Republicans controlled all three.

My money is still on it being bought. The timing is just too perfect, either somebody offered the documents for sale or dem strategists made some phone calls.

I can see some woke zealot handing them over, but the timing is what takes me away from that idea.
Oh, I think that's certainly possible. Maybe even probable. It's a clerk that handed it over, I think. And I kinda suspect Sotomayor. But I'm kinda thinking about Keagan too if we're speculating. She's an 0bama appointee from his own inner circle.

Anyway, Democrats have certainly been trying to get intel into what's happening with this case. Wokes on the inside are probably on the lookout for anything that can be used for the cause.

    ...If we're speculating.

It is all political to fire up the democrat base and they will be screaming about it till November.
I have encountered a variation on this idea that makes sense to me, that this was done more to give Democrat politicians something to run on (saving abortion) rather than having to run on 0Biden's record, which is magnificently awful

I don't think he's planning on delivering anything, other than more democrat seats in congress.
    Agreed

Republican majority = nothing gets done

Democratic majority = shifts America left

    Lather, rinse, repeat

I believe we had a thread about this last year in which we discussed how Democrats don't hesitate losing seats pushing unpopular socialist agenda because they understand it won't be a permanent loss and the GOP won't do anything to counter/reverse the agenda while they're in power. Meanwhile, Republicans are scared to death to ever push ANY agenda for fear it might upset someone and they're scared of ever losing a single seat.

Basically both parties are about fear - one instills it and the other lives in it constantly.

No, she gets sworn in mid-summer. I think that's when Breyer is officially retiring.

Now if it's actually a justice that leaked it? Oh, **** would not hit the fan. That's too big for public onsumption. They'll use all they have to shut that story down. It would likely get blamed on a clerk.
Then wouldn't Breyer be able to leak it without much to worry about?
