Yeah, the old style VTAC rail doesn't thrill me, but it's what comes on the gun.
Just wanted to bump this, and quote myself. The gun arrived today (that was quick!) and it turns out, current production VTAC II rifles are coming with the Troy VTAC Alpha rail.

I wasn't sure if I would like the Geissele SSA trigger, but it's pretty slick. It's single stage and the break is a bit spongy, but it is a definite improvement over mil-spec (if I was going to pony up my own bucks for a Geissele trigger, it'd be a 2-stage of some sort).
The second stage break is like a carrot rather than an icicle.

Trigger timing is robust and parts have been sized to operate with a certain amount of wear to the working surfaces
