Digging this thread out of the archives.... We have a new addition to our household as of tomorrow afternoon. Indy a 1 year old Shepard/Boxer mix will be coming to his new home.

A welcome change, we've had cats for the last 10 or so years. Still have one litte black cat, that will hopefully accept the new family member :):

Also a word of advice for anyone installing their own fencing....when you call 811 to have the buried utilities marked, tell them specifically that you want the lots to your left and right marked as well.

Had it not been for an unmarked buried cable I found with the post hole auger (thankfully it was not live) and the power company coming back out and seeing our intended dig marks and remarking there stuff.

I would have hit a buried high voltage line running to my neighbors house in three locations. Creeped me out bigtime thinking how close to getting fried I was. Also surprised me that the utility marking crews would only mark the address in the call, and not the adjacent lots. Most fences are right on or damn near the property lines....<hello>?

Anyway, here's my new dog :):

Here's Indy feeling at home in his new surroundings. These were taken within an hour of getting him home. :):

Kinda crappy pics, they were taken with a Blackberry. It's all I had at the time.

Cats the other white meat!!!

Did you ever think, when you eat Chinese
It ain’t pork or chicken but a fat siamese?
Yet the food tastes great, so you don’t complain.
But that’s not chicken in your chicken chow mein.
Seems to me I ordered sweet-and-sour pork
    But Garfield’s on my fork.
He’s purrin’ here on my fork.

    ...

There’s a cat in the kettle at the Peking Moon
The place that I eat every day at noon.
They can feed you cat and you’ll never know
Once they wrap it up in dough, boys:
They fry it real crisp in dough.

    ...

Chou Lin asked if I wanted more
As he was dialin’ up his buddy at the old pet store.
I said "Not today. I lost my appetite.
"There’s two cats in my belly and they want to fight."
I was suckin’ on a Rolaid and a Tums or two
When I swear I heard it mew, boys:
And that is when I knew...

    ...

There’s a cat in the kettle at the Peking Moon
I think I gotta stop eatin’ there at noon.
They say that it’s beef or fish or pork
But it’s purrin’ there on my fork.
    There’s a hair-ball on my fork.
