East and gulf coast dock strikes.I suspect any sustained strike will cause more problems for manufacturers here in the US than anything. There is a great deal of reliance on cheap components and chemicals from Asia that will interrupt production if supplies dry up here. You just can't build domestic production up that fast and banks will not loan money on a project where they see the need for it leaving when the strike is eventually settled.
And anything headed east that can be will be shifted to the west coast.East and gulf coast dock strikes.
Not a ton comes around the world the longer way. I am sure some does.
Is there a TL/DW?
Is there something here or the thoughts of a man on a railroad track talking about seaports? (Which is pretty ironic)
Just add constant worry about the ports closing down due to labor strikes in October to your daily list.Is there a TL/DW?

Right, and I agree up until it starts sending the economy deeper into the crapper than the regular Dem policies already have.I've survived dockworker strikes before, I will survive this one don't need government intervention
I need @Ingomike to tell me what part of the constitution gives the government the authority to interveneRight, and I agree up until it starts sending the economy deeper into the crapper than the regular Dem policies already have.
They have authority to protect and regulate interstate commerce, do they not?I need @Ingomike to tell me what part of the constitution gives the government the authority to intervene
Yeah, he will deploy legions of drag queen rump rangers to unload the ships......I am sure our exalted Transportation Secretary can fix it, he is the "any port in the storm" kind of guy, isn't he?
Yes look at commercial trucks you will see a silver sticker on the drivers door that’s the clean air certification for California. The number on it is registered from California by the engine manufacturer you cannot enter the state without it. Container trucks are not typically over the road the containers move by train. Then are delivered locally.Problem with using west coast ports is you have to have California compliant trucks to get it out of the state.
