^^^ This is what I need to start doing. Amazing how little fitness on dry land can transfer to the water...Big kids at the pool this morning. Quick warm up then 2 x 5 min swim with 2 minutes rest, then 5 x 1 min swim 30 sec rest.

Rowers are awesome. Full body cardio!I finally ordered a rowing machine. Should add some much needed cardio to my workout plan.
Did you look back at the scaled workouts from the last two years? I would say with 100 workouts down, you'll have more than enough experience to get through the Open. That's pretty close to where I was when I did my first Open in 2015. Just my two cents.I managed to make up a WOD on Saturday that I missed due to travel last week. It was an 8 minute AMRAP. 2 thrusters, 2 burpees over the bar, 4 Thrusters, 4 Burpees over the bar, and so on counting up by two each round.
I made it to 12.
I won't be doing the Open at this point which my gym will be very disappointed in. I have less than 100 WOD's since I started and there are just too many movements I can't perform and even with scaling if you can't even do one, you don't advance through the workout if I understand it correctly.

Fair enough sir, I get the reasons. Better to know your limitations than break yourself. At least you're in the gym and working.I have. So, for example right now I am unable to jump rope. Both from a technical ability and even if I could string more than 5-6 together, after about 20, my Achilles would be toast. And I'd bet a nice pistol that jump rope will be in at least one of the workouts.
Plus, I am on the ragged edge of staying uninjured right now. In the atmosphere of a competition I'm pretty sure I'll push too hard and end up injured and out for a long time recovering.
I know, excuses. But it is reality for me.
