It was definitely fewer people that I expected. I was, however, a complete first timer.

Many thanks to all who helped, especially Mr. Bobcat Steel himself (shameless plug).

Kimball, I intended to pay you for that set screw too and I spaced it. I'll buy ya a coke at the next 1500 or something.

have you priced soda's at the 1500

I had never seen that set screw trick but it makes since and Ill prob do it on my next build.

techres...I was in the black hat & at your left hand thru much of the day. I have never seen the innermost parts of an AR & found the day useful. Thanks to all who answered my various questions.

You are welcome. I swear my build went better last time and it's all the lower's fault... :):

Spent the last hour making it worse and then got it back to... acceptable.

When parts free up I am going to do a new safety spring, detent and lever.

Don't get discouraged folks! The low turnout had to be at least partly due to parts availability and pricing. I know I would have been there otherwise, maybe with a tag along or two. :yesway:

lets do this again in the spring when the prices return to normal (hope.)

Ill even bring my tig welder and give a tig welding clinic free for all that build a lower.

That way y'all will know how to tig "other" lowers in the future

Sounds like it went well even though it was smaller than expected. I'm sad I had to miss it, though as mentioned its crazy here after getting everyone back in the US for the year. Though got crazier, woke up Saturday to fine 3 kids and wife in varies states of colds, not and easy weekend to get through. Luckly I don't get sick easy.

I'll have to mark the next build party on the calendar, I still have lowers that need building. Plus its funny helping people build their first AR.
