Just a friendly reminder for people who haven't yet to please contact your personal representative and also the speaker Brian Bosmas office. Let's get our rights back from the government that took them away illegally

Tell them if this bill gets Bosma'd again, all future letters will be public.

Ive called numerous times as well as my local representative. Emails and handwritten letters too. This has been in Bosmas' hands this legislative session for 3 weeks now. How can he claim he supports our rights and not put this before committee by now. Ridiculous in my opinion. Keep bombarding him with calls, emails, and letters, but if he doesn't get this on the table he needs to go!

Just got a letter from Hoosier Carry saying this is Ben Smaltz's fault. Been sitting for 3 weeks and he's not letting it go to table for a vote. What's going on here?

    Where's the bacon?
Just got a letter from Hoosier Carry saying this is Ben Smaltz's fault. Been sitting for 3 weeks and he's not letting it go to table for a vote. What's going on here?

I've asked that question as well, and the answer I've gotten is that Smaltz is a very methodical man and wants to get opposition talked to and reassured of lack of expected problems before he hears testimony on a bill. To me this makes sense. I don't want to see it drag on forever, but from a Bosma perspective, the bill is already in the committee's hands. Chairman Smaltz is the guy who we need to focus on as I read this.

    Blessings,
    Bill

I have called Ben Smaltz office for their position with regard to HB 1159 and got the run around from his errand boy that the speaker has not expressed an opinion on the matter yet.

Previous inquires on legislation having nothing to do with HB 1159 garnered plenty of information, tells me everything I need to know regarding his stance on 1159. So much for the NRA's A+ rating on Mr. Smaltz constituents have been sold another empty bill of goods to lend their votes at this point. I hope enough pressure can be applied to change that, sure can't expect much from this clown show in Indianapolis anymore.

Just got off the phone with his office. They were non-committal. I asked the assistant to inform Mr. Smaltz I was urging him to get this on the schedule and I'd be watching.

I have called Smaltz, Bosma, and Steurwald (my rep), to inquire as to their position on HB 1159, and to urge HB 1159 receive a hearing in Public Policy. When I asked about Bosma's position, Bosma's LA tried to give me the canned response, and I cut her off, and politely asked her to forward my response to Bosma: that we have heard the same excuse for three sessions now, that three years ought to be plenty of time for Bosma to complete whatever "study" into the matter he wishes to conduct, and that NOW is the time for the bill to receive a hearing in committee.

I also got the Hoosier Carry email, and went ahead and called every (R) on the list, making the same inquiry and request (minus the more pointed response to Bosma's LA).

Side note: be sure to maintain courteousness with the staffers when calling. They are merely the messengers.

Just launched e-mails to all the "R"s on the Public Policy Committee and Bosma. I think phone calls are to follow.

ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!
To help HB1159 move forward, people have to CONTACT YOUR LOCAL POLICE CHIEF AND SHERIFF and ask them to support HB1159 and PLEASE CONTACT THEIR ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVE to SUPPORT HB1159. People need to HAVE ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS CONTACT YOUR LOCAL POLICE CHIEF AND SHERIFF and ask them to support HB1159 and PLEASE CONTACT THEIR ASSOCIATION REPRESENTATIVE to SUPPORT HB1159.
Rep. Smaltz and Lucas are getting things lined up, but if the police groups come out against it, as they are leaning, THE BILL WILL NOT HAVE A CHANCE. This is the current obstacle!!!
Also, write letters to your local newspaper and tell to explain what this bill does and does not do. It DOES NOT allow prohibited people from carrying and it has nothing to do with actually GETTING a gun, those are the two biggest misconceptions of this bill.
