ive been using imr 4064 for my 308 reloads, but it will not dispence threw my rcbs powder dispencer. from what im experiencing the grain seems to coarse does anyone have any suggestions?
I had the same problem through my Lee and gave up and started running it through my Hornady. I sometimes still get a little crunch but it works well and throws consistent charges. Try to be firm and steady in your movement of the handle. It is a stick powder and it is going to crunch some. Just try to move all the way through it.
I usually set my powder measures two tenths of a grain short with any IMR or Hodgdon powder, and then trickle up to my intended charge weight. Takes no time at all.
I generally just do not baby the throw lever when I am using IMR-4064,Varget ect. YOu don't have to slam it but work it with some purpose. Works good for me with my Hordnady throwers.
