You know, I earned all my Rep the hard way, not like these young whipper-snappers and their new fangled Rep Pyramids..

    :D

The only pyramid you have is upside down. :)

Side note: Anyone under 50 posts isn't allowed in the rep pyramid thread so I don't know where he (member mentioned above somewhere) got his rep.

As for paying a small fee, that is called becoming a site supporter. You should check the FAQ. It is explained quite nicely there and a couple dozen times in this thread.

The problem was that it was not apparent when I signed up that it was an option to pay to communicate. IE: this is a problem that could easily be solved with good advertising or modified sign up process and generate revenue for the site. Furthermore do you think that any newb checks this forum and post first when joining or the FAQ for that matter? It's not why they are drawn here in the first place and who has time for that? I think you missed my point being that this is the suggestions forum. It's a good suggestion, someone should do something positive about it instead of telling me what I should do after that fact as if I care now. This is like the federal government, too many rules no one could care less about.

    Ummm...
    Free site. Check.
Check FAQs so I don't look like a total noob. Check.
Generate income for the site. Huh???
INGO does not receive income from private sales in the classifieds.
    Could things be easier? Maybe.
But they have faqs, even a video for noobs. If they don't want to take the time......
This is not some Professional Site, with a dedicated PAID staff.
Fenway and his host of mods do this because they are gun enthusiest (sp?) that which to share knowledge, and have a good time.
People that do not like the site, always have the option of making their own.

It boils down to - this is not a craigslist for guns!

    FTFY!

The problem was that it was not apparent when I signed up that [STRIKE]it was an option to pay to communicate[/STRIKE] I have to read about the rules. IE: this is a problem that could easily be solved with good [STRIKE]advertising or modified sign up process and generate revenue for the site[/STRIKE]reading comprehension and a small amount of effort on my part. Furthermore do you think that any newb [STRIKE]checks this forum and post first when joining or the FAQ for that matter[/STRIKE]should be able to take a few minutes and learn anything before jumping in with both feet and complaining? It's not why they are drawn here in the first place and [STRIKE]who has time for that[/STRIKE]I should be given special consideration unlike the other 20,000+ members? I think you missed my point being that this is the suggestions forum. It's a good [STRIKE]suggestion[/STRIKE]time for you to realize I want my own way and I will continue to complain and hold my breath so someone should do something positive about it instead of telling me what I should do after that fact as if I care now. This is like the federal government, too many [STRIKE]rules no one could care less about[/STRIKE]freeloaders trying to game the system.

Apparently the title of "suggestions" for the forum head should be relabeled to something else as no one here wants a critiquing of the status quo. Like I said before you are missing the point and apparently have a reading comprehension problem so that would explain this on going banter that I am now thru with. God Bless

I'll go against the grain a little and say I see your point. This site comes up regularly if someone were to Google a specific firearm they are looking for. I'm sure there are a lot of well meaning folks that get excited when they find what they are looking for and try to buy without checking the FAQ's which are admittedly a little tough to navigate. I agree that it would be easier if somehow the basic rules were boiled down and flashed in big bold red letters when you sign up but I don't think that is going to happen.

The folks here( myself included) get a little testy when someone tries to circumvent the rules ( albeit innocently ).

    Thank you,

I for one would have paid a small fee to have been able to use the communication function from the get go (which in my case was after lurking for more than a year). I honestly think alot of people would and it would help with additional funds for the site and also help vendors with an increase in sales.

I originally felt that I did not need to add to threads (who wants to hear what I have to say mentality, apparently I am right by the majority of the responses in this thread) but instead used it as a resource. Obviously, I have changed my stance now that I know there are post number count rules but did not know that until I really needed to communicate which was a major let down. My thinking is I know of no other site with this post count rule so it was a definite surprise.

While I don't disagree with your point, you do see why the rule is in place? The owner of this forum prefers that this be a community that has a classified section. The post rule is simply, as I understand it, to get people to join and engage in the community and also to discourage those who simply want to use it as another Armslist. I hope you can understand where they're coming from.
